GREGORY PERLMAN - owner
Real estate developer and hotelier, Gregory Perlman, is an innovative entrepreneur, yes, but more importantly he is a California native committed to reviving the California Tradition that shaped his life and the way his family spent time together.
Perlman discovered the magic of the desert at a young age
when he vacationed with his family in Palm Springs. During
these retreats, he developed an affinity for the desert's heat
and wild terrain, and its powerful influence on the mind and body. Years later, Perlman recognized a future paradise in neighboring Borrego Springs, and in 2004 purchased more than 3,200 acres surrounded by the Anza-Borrego desert—the largest unspoiled and permanently protected state park in the contiguous United States.
Perlman invested more than $50 million into the area, where he developed Montesoro, a luxury, second-home resort community, and a $25 million Tom Fazio Signature Golf Course. In 2007, Perlman purchased the historic, four-diamond resort, La Casa del Zorro and reopened it as Borrego Ranch Resort & Spa. "The desert has such a naturally powerful draw—it's a big part of what makes the experience here so special," said Perlman. "Resorts with spas are simply facilities. At Borrego Ranch, it's about how our guests want to be and the experience we help them create."
Perlman is the principal of GH Capital, LLC, a diversified
real estate investment company with holdings and developments throughout the United States. He is responsible for the company's vision, strategy and overall guidance.
GH Capital and Perlman have a combined portfolio with a market value of more than $300 million, including
Los Angeles' Hotel Angeleno, Montesoro and adjoining Borrego Ranch Resort & Spa.
Perlman, a graduate from the Boston University School of Management, operates GH Capital from offices in Sherman Oaks and lives with his wife, Jodi, and three children in Encino, California.
