KEVIN ARMENDARIZ - programs director

Kevin Armendariz, Programs Director at Borrego Ranch Resort & Spa, imbues his belief in experiential education, positive reinforcement and challenge by choice into all activities and programs offered at the resort. Specializing in creative and original, individual, group and team building experiences, Armendariz coaches guests to let their guard down, relax and fully indulge in the joy of active learning.

With 25 years of experience in the spa and hospitality industry, Armendariz is focused on creating a true mental and physical getaway at Borrego Ranch, where guests can learn to achieve balance and harmony within.

Prior to joining the Borrego Ranch team, Armendariz was on staff at the world-renowned Miraval. There he incorporated psychology into sports and developed innovative retreat programs that used rock walls and rope courses. Armendariz complemented these physical challenges with mental challenges, encouraging his students to channel cynical and fearful energy into positive change.

Armendariz' passion for sports as a child developed into a profound awareness of the life-changing benefits physical activity has on the mind and body. After graduating from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Psychology, Armendariz worked at a school for behaviorally challenged teenagers. It was there he discovered that in an open, supportive environment, individuals were willing to truly challenge themselves, both mentally and physically, resulting in positive growth in all areas of life. At Borrego Ranch, Armendariz continues to use his experience and talent to create powerful, safe settings that encourage and inspire such growth.
